What a busy year this has been. First
we started the year with Wesley and Lindsi visiting for New Years
with their Arizona family. Shortly thereafter we went to Berkley
California to a conference for Tina’s work and visited with
Fred
Moosman’s Aunt Nita & Uncle Eddie. Mark enjoyed riding bike and
sightseeing in San Francisco.
In March Shawn and Laurie got
engaged, and then in May they married. Wesley, Lindsi, and Ben were
all here as well as all of Shawn and Laurie’s grandparents and many
other relatives. The day looked
like it would turn into a bad storm, but after much wind and
threatening sprinkles, the weather settled for a nice evening
wedding. In June Shawn and Laurie found out they were going to have
a baby, so the rest of the year they have been preparing for their
firstborn. The doctor says it is going to be a boy.
In
August Mark and I traveled to Washington to see Ben. He has a nice
apartment and great weather to go with it. We didn’t really want to
come home. We traveled to Mount Rainier, Mount St. Helens,
Portland, Astoria, and all points in between. We even made it up to
Port Townsend. The volcanic devastation from Mount St. Helens was
still obvious after all these years. Amazing!
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention
that Mark and I were riding a tandem bike this year. In October I
went to a conference and fell and broke my leg, so he has been
keeping pace for the both of us. In November he rode in El Tour de
Tucson. Early in December Mark
rode in the Cottonwood Christmas Parade, and his group won second
prize.
Life
has been interesting to be sure, and we have already put the
finishing touches on our Fall 2009 semester. We hope to see many of
you in the coming year, and we pray that God will be glorified in
each of our lives as we continue to seek Him.
